I just returned from my expedition to the Arctic. During the expedition, I was able to use the Fog-X in my mask while I was snorkeling in Slifra (Iceland). 

I found Fog-X easy and straight forward to apply and I intentionally did not use any defog solution on any part of my mask just to see the difference between Fog-X covered area and the non-Fog-X area. By the end of the hour long exposure to the 34 degree freshwater, the area around the Fog-X film was completely fog covered while the Fog-X film-covered are was completely clear. While in the water, I looked at the other snorkelers and and divers in the vicinity and the majority of their masks were fogged to the point where they had to remove their masks to see me when I was talking to them. 

When I reached the exit point and began getting out of the water, a diver nearby asked what I was humming. It was Johnny Nash's, "I can see clearly now". I didn't even realize that I was humming. 

From my perspective, Fog-X is an exceptional product that keep your mask clear even in the most harsh conditions enhancing diver safety and truly increasing the enjoyment of the diving experience. Using Fog-X will truly allowed me to see clearly now.

Instructions

1. Choose a style that best fits your mask.
2. Clean your mask (NO BURNING or TOOTHPASTE NECCESSARY!)
3. Cut the film to size if needed.
4. Peel off the blue AND clear protective layers. This will leave you a clear film with adhesive on one side and the anti-fog layer on the other.
5. Stick inside the mask.
6. Press out any bubbles with included squeegee.
7. Add water before diving to hydrate the film.
8. ENJOY!!

FAQ:

Are the inserts blue or clear?

Clear. There are protective films on both sides of the inserts that need to be removed with the pull tabs. One of these films is blue, but should be off by the time you are ready to swim, leaving a clear insert.

Do I need to burn or toothpaste scrub my new mask?

NO! Those days are over! Fog-X can go straight in a new mask without any prep. And besides, burning your mask can weaken the glass and make it shatter under water. 

Does the insert fit any dive mask?

Yup. Choose the size that matches your mask. Worst case scenario, you may need to cut the film to size. A rim of fog may develop around the insert, but this is usually unnoticeable.

How long does the anti-fog effect last?

Over a year! 

My mask still fogs up!

Make sure to hydrate the film before using with a drop of water. Rub the water into the film.

Can I hydrate the film with pool water, salt water or fresh water?

Yes, yes and yes!

Can I clean my mask and Fog-X film?

Yes! Soap, vinegar, and baking soda are all ok. Just make sure to rinse these out well with fresh water so the residue does not cover up the Fog-X magic.

Can I still use spit, defog or baby shampoo?

Yes, but those liquids will cover up the special properties of Fog-X film and keep it from working, so we recommend only using water.

Can I use with prescription lenses?

Yes, up to +2 and -2 diopters. 

Can I cut out a piece for my bifocal?

Of course! Just trim what you need and stick one piece of Fog-X on the "see-er" and one on the regular portion of the dive mask. Alec in the above video does this.

Can I peel it off and replace it?

Sure. You won't need to, but you could. The adhesive is silicone based and leaves no residue on your goggles. If you need to replace them, simply peel them off and stick new ones in.
