Structure and movement define the glitter plus-size formal prom long dress by LaDivine C148C, a gown that is structured and moves, but which is constructed in a specific way to offer a supportive and trim fit to those with larger bodies. The dress is built on a sleeveless corset-style bodice, which has internal boning to provide a tight hold through the torso. The top is made of delicate lace embroidery and glitter accents, which then step into a deep V-neckline to form a distinct vertical point of focus. This top is structured in that it maintains the dress in position whilst placing emphasis on the natural waist to offer a sure foundation to the lightweight underneath.

The skirt is made of tulle layers, which bulge out to form a traditional A-line shape and start at the waist and extend to the full length hem. This design option gives maximum liberty of movement, since the fabric does not stick to the hips, but of course, it frees itself. The mixture of the strict, tight bodice with the wide-layered, floor-sweeping skirt makes a well-balanced profile, but it suits the long nights. The gown is completed in subdued and elegant hues such as Dusty Teal and Mauve for a down-to-earth, but big impact appearance in any formal place.

Key Features:

  • Structured Corset Bodice: Designed with internal support to provide a secure, cinched fit that holds its shape throughout the night.
  • Lace & Glitter Detailing: Features intricate embroidery and subtle shimmer that add depth and texture to the upper half of the gown.
  • A-Line Tulle Skirt: Multiple layers of tulle create a voluminous, floor-length silhouette that moves naturally and remains breathable.
  • Flattering V-Neckline: A sharp, open cut that frames the face and balances the fullness of the skirt.
  • Extended Sizing: Specifically tailored for plus-size dimensions (18–24) to ensure the proportions are accurate and the fit is comfortable.

Available Colors:

Blue, Dusty Mauve, Dusty Teal

Beautiful art and story
Format: Kindle
Absolutely loved the artwork and the story of friendship between Nayra and Rami. The reflection in the Djinn's story was so gorgeously done.

Book Review
Format: Paperback
Disclaimer: I borrowed this book from the library. Support your local libraries! All opinions are my own. Book: Nayra and the Djinn Author: Iasmin Omar Ata Book Series: Nayra and the Djinn Book 1 Rating: 5/5 Diversity: Muslim FMC, Muslim characters, Nonbinary characters Recommended For...: Middle Grade readers, Fantasy, Graphic Novel, Friendship Publication Date: February 28, 2023 Genre: Fantasy Graphic Novel Age Relevance: 10+ (racism, bullying, religion) Explanation of CWs: There are some racist remarks made to Muslim characters but it is in a light that shows it’s not ok. There is also bullying. The Islamic religion is shown and discussed. If This Was a Taylor Swift Song: It’s Nice To Have A Friend Publisher: Viking Books for Young Readers Pages: 256 Synopsis: Nothing is going right for Nayra Mansour. There's the constant pressure from her strict family, ruthless bullying from her classmates, and exhausting friendship demands from Rami -the only other Muslim girl at school. Nayra has had enough. Just when she's considering transferring schools to escape it all, a mysterious Djinn named Marjan appears. As a djinn, a mythical being in Islamic folklore, Marjan uses their powers and wisdom to help Nayra navigate her overwhelming life. But Marjan's past is fraught with secrets, guilt, and trouble, and if they don't face what they've done, Nayra could pay the price. In this beautifully illustrated graphic novel, Iasmin Omar Ata has created a realistic coming-of-age story with an enchanting dose of the fantastical about strength, identity, and, most of all, friendship. Review: I thought that this was a very well-written and illustrated graphic novel about Islamic folklore involving djinns. I went into this book not knowing a whole lot about them, but the way that the author and illustrator work together to tell the story about a particular one that comes to Earth was really enchanting. The characters were very well written in my opinion and I really liked that they felt kid-like for upper middle grade lower YA book. The only thing that I would really fault the book on is that it seemed that the racist instances in the book were just kind of brushed off in a sense? I think the book might have been leading up to a second one in a series, But I would have liked it to be shown that the types of remarks that the main character was experiencing was definitely not okay and that they were being adequately dealt with although I do realize that not every administration body would take this as seriously as others, especially when it comes to our Muslim children, friends, family, and/or neighbors. Verdict: I really love this book so much! Highly recommend!

Pros and cons
Format: Kindle
I appreciate the representation and the complicated relationship between the two sets of best friends. Friendship is not always easy. However, the art was not up to showing subtle emotions. There were pages of panels where the two friends looked into each others eyes and I couldn't tell what they were feeling. Good effort but this was 2.5 stars rounded to 3.

Sweet younger YA graphic novel
Format: Paperback
Nayra and the Djinn is a graphic novel set during Ramadan that follows an American Muslim girl desperate to transfer out of the high school she hates. When shadow djinn Marjan agrees to help her by using their djinn powers, Nayra’s life starts improving. But Marjan isn’t being honest about their reasons for being in the human world, and as the end of Ramadan approaches, Marjan’s secrets may return to upend Nayra’s life too … This is a super cute coming-of-age tale that revolves around friendship and family! I think it slots perfectly into the much-needed crossover area between older middle-grade and lower YA books, and will appeal to younger teens or the young at heart. The art style was overall adorable, but my favorite aspect was the color work. The artist used a limited color palette to portray different moods and character perspectives. As a space nerd, I also appreciated the star accents throughout the artwork (I have a theory that the stars tended to crop up to hint at djinn influence on the events of the story, but that’s just speculation). While I’m not a frequent graphic novel reader, this was a lovely change of pace from my usual reads. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a wholesome middle grade/YA crossover with a sprinkle of the supernatural!
