This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.

Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. This is the BEST SUNCREEN. It’s all we use-and I know, I know it’s expensive (standard is $30 a bottle) BUT it does go on sale quite often for like $20 ish which is what competitors run for and this is WAY cleaner. It’s made of a lot of organic ingredients and this one smells summery but they have unscented options too-that’s normally what I get! You can get spf 30 or 50 and they both work so well, never been burned wearing it. It’s a fine spray that goes on clear and dries quick-no white cast, no rubbing in. We live in a hot state that is sunny a lot of the year so we need a good sunscreen year round and this ticks all my boxes. This is the best product coola offers!! My entire family uses it.
