Still reading this with my wife and meeting up to go over the questions. It's a beautiful, God-exalting, Christ-centered view of marriage and how we are joined together for the mission of God, not just to stare at each other. But, if that cake doesn't get shared and enjoyed by the people around us, it's not serving it's purpose. In marriage, yes, we serve and love each other first, as is right, but if our marriage is only for us, then I believe we aren't using it the way God intended. I love Francis and Lisa Chan and this is a great book - not on how to have a great marriage, but how to view marriage in light of eternity and fuel us towards gospel-driven, God-honoring mission. We have only been married two years, but I see now that God is calling us to more, and we want to honor God in all that we do. I will recommend this book to others, but only once I finish the book. I'll update later with a more comprehensive review.
