Beavertail Cactus 'Party Favor' (Opuntia utahensis hyb) is a rare hybrid prickly pear cactus growing in the high desert region of central Oregon. It is a unique hybrid that we think is a cross of two sub types of O. utahensis, it is has a symmetrical, upright and wide growing habit, and has extra large pads, eventually reaching the size of dinner ping pong paddles! Flowers are mostly pink but can change slight coloration overtime giving a wave of color. This is the largest variety of opuntia utahensis we've seen and has been growing completely unprotected for decades in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b, repeatedly seeing temps below zero degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -20 degrees F!!

Love it!!!

Another great book by this author. It is full of love, growth and has spice. I like the concept of the story and how the issues was solved. I felt the bond and love between the MCs from the start. I will definitely read this book again.

🙌 body diversity 🙌
Format: Kindle
Body diversity for the win in this new twist on a classic vampire x human trope! A Rose For The Taking explores the arranged marriage between an under-appreciated “spinster” and a vampire magistrate stuck in her own grief. Beyond the budding romance, we are also given a piercing look into the struggle of vampire/human politics including classism, worker exploitation and policy reform. The spice was sparingly scattered throughout the book and was unfortunately almost exclusively one-sided…which continues to be my biggest pet peeve in these books. Overall, the steamy bits were effective and blended well into the storyline. No kink, mostly open door. Additionally, Trapp lovingly incorporates a realistically proportioned FMC, the grief of losing a spouse and the familial trauma of being tolerated only for what you bring to the table. Solid read and it definitely got me adding more of Trapp’s body of work to my TBR!

It was a good read.
Format: Kindle
While I did enjoy the book, it moved a little fast with little plot development. Rose started strong and then she seemed to get weaker and weaker throughout. Even the parts where she found her back bone didn’t compare to her initial anger towards her family.
Lena was a good character. A little huffier than I liked but overall well rounded. Overall, I enjoyed the book, it just wasn’t my favorite.
